Epitaphs Viii. Not Without Heavy Grief Of Heart Did He Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJBKLMNOPQRS TAUV

Not without heavy grief of heart did HeA
On whom the duty fell for at that timeB
The father sojourned in a distant landC
Deposit in the hollow of this tombD
A brother's Child most tenderly belovedE
FRANCESCO was the name the Youth had borneF
POZZOBONNELLI his illustrious houseG
And when beneath this stone the Corse was laidH
The eyes of all Savona streamed with tearsI
Alas the twentieth April of his lifeJ
Had scarcely flowered and at this early timeB
By genuine virtue he inspired a hopeK
That greatly cheered his country to his kinL
He promised comfort and the flattering thoughtsM
His friends had in their fondness entertainedN
He suffered not to languish or decayO
Now is there not good reason to break forthP
Into a passionate lament O SoulQ
Short while a Pilgrim in our nether worldR
Do thou enjoy the calm empyreal airS
And round this earthly tomb let roses riseT
An everlasting spring in memoryA
Of that delightful fragrance which was onceU
From thy mild manners quietly exhaledV
