Epitaph - In The Chapel - Yard Of Langdale, Westmoreland Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEFFGHIICCJJKKLM NN

By playful smiles alas too oftA
A sad heart's sunshine by a softB
And gentle nature and a freeC
Yet modest hand of charityC
Through life was Owen Lloyd endearedD
To young and old and how reveredE
Had been that pious spirit a tideF
Of humble mourners testifiedF
When after pains dispensed to proveG
The measure of God's chastening loveH
Here brought from far his corse found restI
Fulfillment of his own requestI
Urged less for this Yew's shade though heC
Planted with such fond hope the treeC
Less for the love of stream and rockJ
Dear as they were than that his FlockJ
When they no more their Pastor's voiceK
Could hear to guide them in their choiceK
Through good and evil help might haveL
Admonished from his silent graveM
Of righteousness of sins forgivenN
For peace on earth and bliss in heavenN
