England! The Time Is Come When Thou Should-st Wean Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEFAGHGHHG

ENGLAND the time is come when thou should'st weanA
Thy heart from its emasculating foodB
The truth should now be better understoodC
Old things have been unsettled we have seenA
Fair seed time better harvest might have beenD
But for thy trespasses and at this dayE
If for Greece Egypt India AfricaF
Aught good were destined thou would'st step betweenA
England all nations in this charge agreeG
But worse more ignorant in love and hateH
Far far more abject is thine EnemyG
Therefore the wise pray for thee though the freightH
Of thy offences be a heavy weightH
Oh grief that Earth's best hopes rest all with TheeG
