Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDEFG

O FRIEND I know not which way I must lookA
nbsp nbsp nbsp For comfort being as I am opprestB
nbsp nbsp nbsp To think that now our life is only drestB
For show mean handy work of craftsman cookA
Or groom We must run glittering like a brookA
nbsp nbsp nbsp In the open sunshine or we are unblestB
nbsp nbsp nbsp The wealthiest man among us is the bestB
No grandeur now in nature or in bookA
Delights us Rapine avarice expenseC
nbsp nbsp nbsp This is idolatry and these we adoreD
nbsp nbsp nbsp Plain living and high thinking are no moreD
nbsp nbsp nbsp The homely beauty of the good old causeE
Is gone our peace our fearful innocenceF
nbsp nbsp nbsp And pure religion breathing household lawsG
