England, 1802 Iii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDAEFEGGF

Great men have been among us hands that penn'dA
And tongues that utter'd wisdom better noneB
The later Sidney Marvel HarringtonB
Young Vane and others who call'd Milton friendA
These moralists could act and comprehendA
They knew how genuine glory was put onC
Taught us how rightfully a nation shoneD
In splendour what strength was that would not bendA
But in magnanimous meekness France 'tis strangeE
Hath brought forth no such souls as we had thenF
Perpetual emptiness unceasing changeE
No single volume paramount no codeG
No master spirit no determined roadG
But equally a want of books and menF
