Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Iii. - Xxvii - Thanksgiving After Childbirth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBBACBDEDEED

Woman the Power who left his throne on highA
And deigned to wear the robe of flesh we wearB
The Power that thro' the straits of InfancyC
Did pass dependent on maternal careB
His own humanity with Thee will shareB
Pleased with the thanks that in his People's eyeA
Thou offerest up for safe DeliveryC
From Childbirth's perilous throes And should the HeirB
Of thy fond hopes hereafter walk inclinedD
To courses fit to make a mother rueE
That ever he was born a glance of mindD
Cast upon this observance may renewE
A better will and in the imagined viewE
Of thee thus kneeling safety he may findD
