Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Iii. - Xxvi - The Marriage Ceremony Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDAEFFEFE

The Vested Priest before the Altar standsA
Approach come gladly ye prepared in sightB
Of God and chosen friends your troth to plightB
With the symbolic ring and willing handsA
Solemnly joined Now sanctify the bandsA
O Father to the Espoused thy blessing giveC
That mutually assisted they may liveD
Obedient as here taught to thy commandsA
So prays the Church to consecrate a VowE
The which would endless matrimony makeF
Union that shadows forth and doth partakeF
A mystery potent human love to endowE
With heavenly each more prized for the other's sakeF
Weep not meek Bride uplift thy timid browE
