Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Iii. - Xvii - Places Of Worship Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAADEFEEEEEE

As star that shines dependent upon starA
Is to the sky while we look up and loveB
As to the deep fair ships which though they moveC
Seem fixed to eyes that watch them from afarA
As to the sandy desert fountains areA
With palm groves shaded at wide intervalsD
Whose fruit around the sun burnt Native fallsE
Of roving tired or desultory warF
Such to this British Isle her Christian FanesE
Each linked to each for kindred servicesE
Her Spires her Steeple towers with glittering vanesE
Far kenned her Chapels lurking among treesE
Where a few villagers on bended kneesE
Find solace which a busy world disdainsE
