Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Iii. - Xlvi - Ejaculation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDAEDDEDE

Glory to God and to the Power who cameA
In filial duty clothed with love divineB
That made his human tabernacle shineB
Like Ocean burning with purpureal flameA
Or like the Alpine Mount that takes its nameA
From roseate hues far kenned at morn and evenC
In hours of peace or when the storm is drivenD
Along the nether region's rugged frameA
Earth prompts Heaven urges let us seek the lightE
Studious of that pure intercourse begunD
When first our infant brows their lustre wonD
So like the Mountain may we grow more brightE
From unimpeded commerce with the SunD
At the approach of all involving nightE
