Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Iii. - I - I Saw The Figure Of A Lovely Maid Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBBCCBDEEDDE

Part III From the Restoration to the Present TimesA
-
-
I saw the figure of a lovely MaidB
Seated alone beneath a darksome treeC
Whose fondly overhanging canopyC
Set off her brightness with a pleasing shadeB
No Spirit was she 'that' my heart betrayedB
For she was one I loved exceedinglyC
But while I gazed in tender reverieC
Or was it sleep that with my Fancy playedB
The bright corporeal presence form and faceD
Remaining still distinct grew thin and rareE
Like sunny mist at length the golden hairE
Shape limbs and heavenly features keeping paceD
Each with the other in a lingering raceD
Of dissolution melted into airE
