Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Ii. - Xxiv - Saints Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAADDAEFGGHF

Ye too must fly before a chasing handA
Angels and Saints in every hamlet mournedB
Ah if the old idolatry be spurnedC
Let not your radiant Shapes desert the LandA
Her adoration was not your demandA
The fond heart proffered it the servile heartD
And therefore are ye summoned to departD
Michael and thou St George whose flaming brandA
The Dragon quelled and valiant MargaretE
Whose rival sword a like Opponent slewF
And rapt Cecilia seraph haunted QueenG
Of harmony and weeping MagdaleneG
Who in the penitential desert metH
Gales sweet as those that over Eden blewF
