Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Ii. - Xv - Archbishop Chichely To Henry V Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACADACD

What beast in wilderness or cultured fieldA
The lively beauty of the leopard showsB
What flower in meadow ground or garden growsB
That to the towering lily doth not yieldA
Let both meet only on thy royal shieldA
Go forth great King claim what thy birth bestowsB
Conquer the Gallic lily which thy foesB
Dare to usurp thou hast a sword to wieldA
And Heaven will crown the right The mitred SireC
Thus spake and lo a Fleet for Gaul addrestA
Ploughs her bold course across the wondering seasD
For sooth to say ambition in the breastA
Of youthful heroes is no sullen fireC
But one that leaps to meet the fanning breezeD
