Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Ii. - Viii - Crusaders Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDAEAAEAE

Furl we the sails and pass with tardy oarsA
Through these bright regions casting many a glanceB
Upon the dream like issues the romanceB
Of many coloured life that Fortune poursA
Round the Crusaders till on distant shoresA
Their labours end or they return to lieC
The vow performed in cross legged effigyD
Devoutly stretched upon their chancel floorsA
Am I deceived Or is their requiem chantedE
By voices never mute when Heaven untiesA
Her inmost softest tenderest harmoniesA
Requiem which Earth takes up with voice undauntedE
When she would tell how Brave and Good and WiseA
For their high guerdon not in vain have pantedE
