Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Ii. - Vii - Continued Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDAEEFGGF

And what melodious sounds at times prevailA
And ever and anon how bright a gleamB
Pours on the surface of the turbid StreamB
What heartfelt fragrance mingles with the galeA
That swells the bosom of our passing sailA
For where but on 'this' River's margin blowC
Those flowers of chivalry to bind the browD
Of hardihood with wreaths that shall not failA
Fair Court of Edward wonder of the worldE
I see a matchless blazonry unfurledE
Of wisdom magnanimity and loveF
And meekness tempering honourable prideG
The lamb is couching by the lion's sideG
And near the flame eyed eagle sits the doveF
