Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Ii. - Ix - As Faith Thus Sanctified The Warrior's Crest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDDC

As faith thus sanctified the warrior's crestA
While from the Papal Unity there cameB
What feebler means had failed to give one aimB
Diffused thro' all the regions of the WestA
So does her Unity its power attestA
By works of Art that shed on the outward frameB
Of worship glory and grace which who shall blameB
That ever looked to heaven for final restA
Hail countless Temples that so well befitC
Your ministry that as ye rise and takeD
Form spirit and character from holy writC
Give to devotion wheresoe'er awakeD
Pinions of high and higher sweep and makeD
The unconverted soul with awe submitC
