Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part Ii. - Ii - From False Assumption Rose Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCCBDEFEFD

From false assumption rose and fondly hailedA
By superstition spread the Papal powerB
Yet do not deem the Autocracy prevailedA
Thus only even in error's darkest hourB
She daunts forth thundering from her spiritual towerB
Brute rapine or with gentle lure she tamesC
Justice and Peace through Her uphold their claimsC
And Chastity finds many a sheltering bowerB
Realm there is none that if controlled or swayedD
By her commands partakes not in degreeE
Of good o'er manners arts and arms diffusedF
Yes to thy domination Roman SeeE
Tho' miserably oft monstrously abusedF
By blind ambition be this tribute paidD
