Ecclesiastical Sonnets - Part I. - Xviii - Apology Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAABBADEDFFE

Nor scorn the aid which Fancy oft doth lendA
The Soul's eternal interests to promoteB
Death darkness danger are our natural lotC
And evil Spirits 'may' our walk attendA
For aught the wisest know or comprehendA
Then be 'good' Spirits free to breathe a noteB
Of elevation let their odours floatB
Around these Converts and their glories blendA
The midnight stars outshining or the blazeD
Of the noon day Nor doubt that golden cordsE
Of good works mingling with the visions raiseD
The Soul to purer worlds and 'who' the lineF
Shall draw the limits of the power defineF
That even imperfect faith to man affordsE
