The Pictish cloud darkens the enervate land | A |
By Rome abandoned vain are suppliant cries | D |
And prayers that would undo her forced farewell | E |
For she returns not Awed by her own knell | E |
She casts the Britons upon strange Allies | D |
Soon to become more dreaded enemies | F |
Than heartless misery called them to repel | E |
