Countess's Pillar Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEEFGG

While the Poor gather round till the end of timeA
May this bright flower of Charity displayB
Its bloom unfolding at the appointed dayB
Flower than the loveliest of the vernal primeA
Lovelier transplanted from heaven's purest climeA
Charity never faileth on that creedC
More than on written testament or deedC
The pious Lady built with hope sublimeA
Alms on this stone to be dealt out 'for ever 'D
Laus Deo Many a Stranger passing byE
Has with that Parting mixed a filial sighE
Blest its humane Memorials fond endeavourF
And fastening on those lines an eye tear glazedG
Has ended though no Clerk with God be praisedG
