Composed On The Eve Of The Marriage Of A Friend In The Vale Of Grasmere Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCDC

What need of clamorous bells or ribands gayA
These humble nuptials to proclaim or graceB
Angels of love look down upon the placeB
Shed on the chosen vale a sun bright dayA
Yet no proud gladness would the Bride displayA
Even for such promise serious is her faceB
Modest her mien and she whose thoughts keep paceB
With gentleness in that becoming wayA
Will thank you Faultless does the Maid appearC
No disproportion in her soul no strifeD
But when the closer view of wedded lifeD
Hath shown that nothing human can be clearC
From frailty for that insight may the WifeD
To her indulgent Lord become more dearC
