Composed In The Glen Of Loch Etive Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCACACADEEFGG

This Land of Rainbows spanning glens whose wallsA
Rock built are hung with rainbow coloured mistsB
Of far stretched Meres whose salt flood never restsC
Of tuneful Caves and playful WaterfallsA
Of Mountains varying momently their crestsC
Proud be this Land whose poorest huts are hallsA
Where Fancy entertains becoming guestsC
While native song the heroic Past recallsA
Thus in the net of her own wishes caughtD
The Muse exclaimed but Story now must hideE
Her trophies Fancy crouch the course of prideE
Has been diverted other lessons taughtF
That make the Patriot spirit bow her headG
Where the all conquering Roman feared to treadG
