Cave Of Staffa - After The Crowd Had Departed Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCACDCDCD

Thanks for the lessons of this Spot fit schoolA
For the presumptuous thoughts that would assignB
Mechanic laws to agency divineB
And measuring heaven by earth would overruleA
Infinite Power The pillared vestibuleA
Expanding yet precise the roof embowedC
Might seem designed to humble man when proudC
Of his best workmanship by plan and toolA
Down bearing with his whole Atlantic weightC
Of tide and tempest on the Structure's baseD
And flashing to that Structure's topmost heightC
Ocean has proved its strength and of its graceD
In calms is conscious finding for his freightC
Of softest music some reponsive placeD
