At Furness Abbey Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACBBADEDFEF

Here where of havoc tired and rash undoingA
Man left this Structure to become Time's preyB
A soothing spirit follows in the wayB
That Nature takes her counter work pursuingA
See how her Ivy clasps the sacred RuinC
Fall to prevent or beautify decayB
And on the mouldered walls how bright how gayB
The flowers in pearly dews their bloom renewingA
Thanks to the place blessings upon the hourD
Even as I speak the rising Sun's first smileE
Gleams on the grass crowned top of yon tall TowerD
Whose cawing occupants with joy proclaimF
Prescriptive title to the shattered pileE
Where Cavendish 'thine' seems nothing but a nameF
