Address From The Spirit Of Cockermouth Castle Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEFDGE

Thou look'st upon me and dost fondly thinkA
Poet that stricken as both are by yearsB
We differing once so much are now CompeersB
Prepared when each has stood his time to sinkA
Into the dust Erewhile a sterner linkA
United us when thou in boyish playC
Entering my dungeon didst become a preyC
To soul appalling darkness Not a blinkA
Of light was there and thus did I thy TutorD
Make thy young thoughts acquainted with the graveE
While thou wert chasing the winged butterflyF
Through my green courts or climbing a bold suitorD
Up to the flowers whose golden progenyG
Still round my shattered brow in beauty waveE
