Rivals Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCBC DBDBEFGF

Of all the torments all the caresA
With which our lives are curstB
Of all the plagues a lover bearsA
Sure rivals are the worstB
By partners in each other kindB
Afflictions easier growC
In love alone we hate to findB
Companions of our woeC
-
Sylvia for all the pangs you seeD
Are labouring in my breastB
I beg not you would favour meD
Would you but slight the restB
How great soe'er your rigours areE
With them alone I'll copeF
I can endure my own despairG
But not another's hopeF
