My friend says I was not a good sonA

I say yes I understandB

to see my parents very often you knowC

maybe I would go there onceE
a month or maybe even lessF
I say oh yesF

he says the last time I went to see my fatherG
I say the last time I saw my fatherG

he says the last time I saw my fatherG
he was asking me about my lifeH
how I was making out and heI
went into the next roomJ
to get something to give meI

feeling again the coldL
of my father's hand the last timeM

he says and my father turnedN
in the doorway and saw meI
look at my wristwatch and heI
said you know I would like you to stayK
and talk with meI

but if you are busy he saidO
I don't want you to feel that youP
have toP
just because I'm hereQ

you have important work you are doingR

my friend is older than I amS
he says and I told my father it was soC
