When You Go Away Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCD EFGHIJK

When you go away the wind clicks around to the northA
The painters work all day but at sundown the paint fallsB
Showing the black wallsB
The clock goes back to striking the same hourC
That has no place in the yearsD
-
And at night wrapped in the bed of ashesE
In one breath I wakeF
It is the time when the beards of the dead get their growthG
I remember that I am fallingH
That I am the reasonI
And that my words are the garment of what I shall never beJ
Like the tucked sleeve of a one armed boyK
