The Sonnets Lxx - That Thou Art Blam'd Shall Not Be Thy Defect Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDFGFGHH

That thou art blam'd shall not be thy defectA
For slander's mark was ever yet the fairB
The ornament of beauty is suspectA
A crow that flies in heaven's sweetest airB
So thou be good slander doth but approveC
Thy worth the greater being woo'd of timeD
For canker vice the sweetest buds doth loveE
And thou present'st a pure unstained primeD
Thou hast passed by the ambush of young daysF
Either not assail'd or victor being charg'dG
Yet this thy praise cannot be so thy praiseF
To tie up envy evermore enlarg'dG
If some suspect of ill mask'd not thy showH
Then thou alone kingdoms of hearts shouldst oweH
