The Sonnets Cxx - That You Were Once Unkind Befriends Me Now Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

That you were once unkind befriends me nowA
And for that sorrow which I then did feelB
Needs must I under my transgression bowA
Unless my nerves were brass or hammer'd steelB
For if you were by my unkindness shakenC
As I by yours you've pass'd a hell of timeD
And I a tyrant have no leisure takenC
To weigh how once I suffer'd in your crimeD
O that our night of woe might have remember'dE
My deepest sense how hard true sorrow hitsF
And soon to you as you to me then tender'dE
The humble salve which wounded bosoms fitsF
But that your trespass now becomes a feeG
Mine ransoms yours and yours must ransom meG
