The Sonnets Cliii - Cupid Laid By His Brand And Fell Asleep Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDFGFGHH

Cupid laid by his brand and fell asleepA
A maid of Dian's this advantage foundB
And his love kindling fire did quickly steepA
In a cold valley fountain of that groundB
Which borrow'd from this holy fire of LoveC
A dateless lively heat still to endureD
And grew a seeting bath which yet men proveE
Against strange maladies a sovereign cureD
But at my mistress' eye Love's brand new firedF
The boy for trial needs would touch my breastG
I sick withal the help of bath desiredF
And thither hied a sad distemper'd guestG
But found no cure the bath for my help liesH
Where Cupid got new fire my mistress' eyesH
