The Sonnets C - Where Art Thou Muse That Thou Forget'st So Long Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGFGHH

Where art thou Muse that thou forget'st so longA
To speak of that which gives thee all thy mightB
Spend'st thou thy fury on some worthless songA
Darkening thy power to lend base subjects lightB
Return forgetful Muse and straight redeemC
In gentle numbers time so idly spentD
Sing to the ear that doth thy lays esteemC
And gives thy pen both skill and argumentE
Rise resty Muse my love's sweet face surveyF
If Time have any wrinkle graven thereG
If any be a satire to decayF
And make time's spoils despised every whereG
Give my love fame faster than Time wastes lifeH
So thou prevent'st his scythe and crooked knifeH
