Sonnet 70: That Thou Art Blamed Shall Not Be Thy Defect Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDFGFGHH

That thou art blamed shall not be thy defectA
For slander's mark was ever yet the fairB
The ornament of beauty is suspectA
A crow that flies in heaven's sweetest airB
So thou be good slander doth but approveC
Thy worth the greater being wooed of timeD
For canker vice the sweetest buds doth loveE
And thou present'st a pure unstain egrave d primeD
Thou hast passed by the ambush of young daysF
Either not assailed or victor being chargedG
Yet this thy praise cannot be so thy praiseF
To tie up envy evermore enlargedG
If some suspect of ill masked not thy showH
Then thou alone kingdoms of hearts shouldst oweH
