Sonnet 64: When I Have Seen By Time's Fell Hand Defaced Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDEFGFGHH

When I have seen by Time's fell hand defacedA
The rich proud cost of outworn buried ageB
When sometime lofty towers I see down razedC
And brass eternal slave to mortal rageB
When I have seen the hungry ocean gainD
Advantage on the kingdom of the shoreE
And the firm soil win of the watery mainD
Increasing store with loss and loss with storeE
When I have seen such interchange of stateF
Or state it self confounded to decayG
Ruin hath taught me thus to ruminateF
That Time will come and take my love awayG
This thought is as a death which cannot chooseH
But weep to have that which it fears to loseH
