Sonnet 012: When I Do Count The Clock That Tells The Time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGFGHH

When I do count the clock that tells the timeA
And see the brave day sunk in hideous nightB
When I behold the violet past primeA
And sable curls all silvered o'er with whiteB
When lofty trees I see barren of leavesC
Which erst from heat did canopy the herdD
And summer's green all girded up in sheavesC
Borne on the bier with white and bristly beardE
Then of thy beauty do I question makeF
That thou among the wastes of time must goG
Since sweets and beauties do themselves forsakeF
And die as fast as they see others growG
And nothing 'gainst Time's scythe can make defenceH
Save breed to brave him when he takes thee henceH
