Wapping Old Stairs Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFGHHI

'Your Molly has never been false she declaresA
Since the last time we parted at Wapping Old StairsA
When I said that I would continue the sameB
And I gave you the 'bacco box marked with my nameB
When I passed a whole fortnight between decks with youC
Did I e'er give a kiss Tom to one of your crewC
To be useful and kind to my Thomas I stay'dD
For his trousers I washed and his grog too I madeD
-
Though you promised last Sunday to walk in the MallE
With Susan from Deptford and likewise with SallE
In silence I stood your unkindness to hearF
And only upbraided my Tom with a tearG
Why should Sall or should Susan than me be more prizedH
For the heart that is true Tom should ne'er be despisedH
Then be constant and kind nor your Molly forsakeI
Still your trousers I'll wash and your grog too I'll make '-
