Song Of The Violet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIJKLGL

A humble flower long time I pinedA
Upon the solitary plainB
And trembled at the angry windA
And shrunk before the bitter rainB
And oh 'twas in a blessed hourC
A passing wanderer chanced to seeD
And pitying the lonely flowerC
To stoop and gather meD
-
I fear no more the tempest rudeE
On dreary heath no more I pineF
But left my cheerless solitudeE
To deck the breast of CarolineF
Alas our days are brief at bestG
Nor long I fear will mine endureH
Though shelter'd here upon a breastG
So gentle and so pureH
-
It draws the fragrance from my leavesI
It robs me of my sweetest breathJ
And every time it falls and heavesI
It warns me of my coming deathJ
But one I know would glad foregoK
All joys of life to be as IL
An hour to rest on that sweet breastG
And then contented dieL
