Beneath the gold acacia budsA
My gentle Nora sits and broodsA
Far far away in Boston woodsA
My gentle NoraB
-
I see the tear drop in her e'eC
Her bosom's heaving tenderlyC
I know I know she thinks of meC
My Darling NoraB
-
And where am I My love whilst thouD
Sitt'st sad beneath the acacia boughD
Where pearl's on neck and wreath on browD
I stand my NoraB
-
Mid carcanet and coronetE
Where joy lamps shine and flowers are setE
Where England's chivalry are metE
Behold me NoraB
-
In this strange scene of revelryC
Amidst this gorgeous chivalryC
A form I saw was like to theeC
My love my NoraB
-
She paused amidst her converse gladF
The lady saw that I was sadF
She pitied the poor lonely ladF
Dost love her NoraB
-
In sooth she is a lovely dameG
A lip of red and eye of flameG
And clustering golden locks the sameG
As thine dear NoraB
-
Her glance is softer than the dawn'sA
Her foot is lighter than the fawn'sA
Her breast is whiter than the swan'sA
Or thine my NoraB
-
Oh gentle breast to pity meC
Oh lovely Ladye EmilyC
Till death till death I'll think of theeC
Of thee and NoraB
