Ah, Bleak And Barren Was The Moor Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHIH

Ah bleak and barren was the moorA
Ah loud and piercing was the stormB
The cottage roof was shelter'd sureA
The cottage hearth was bright and warmB
An orphan boy the lattice pass'dC
And as he mark'd its cheerful glowD
Felt doubly keen the midnight blastC
And doubly cold the fallen snowD
-
They marked him as he onward press'dE
With fainting heart and weary limbF
Kind voices bade him turn and restE
And gentle faces welcomed himF
The dawn is up the guest is goneG
The cottage hearth is blazing stillH
Heaven pity all poor wanderers loneI
Hark to the wind upon the hillH
