The Glow-worm. (from The Villager's Verse-book.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD AEAE

Oh what is this which shines so brightA
And in the lonely placeB
Hangs out his small green lamp at nightA
The dewy bank to graceB
-
It is a glow worm still and paleC
It shines the whole night longD
When only stars O nightingaleC
Seem listening to thy songD
-
And so amid the world's cold nightA
Through good report or illE
Shines out the humble Christian's lightA
As lonely and as stillE
