The Convent Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFFEGG

If chance some pensive stranger hither ledA
His bosom glowing from majestic viewsB
Temple and tower 'mid the bright landscape's huesB
Should ask who sleeps beneath this lowly bedA
A maid of sorrow To the cloistered sceneC
Unknown and beautiful a mourner cameD
Seeking with unseen tears to quench the flameD
Of hapless love yet was her look sereneC
As the pale moonlight in the midnight aisleE
Her voice was gentle and a charm could lendF
Like that which spoke of a departed friendF
And a meek sadness sat upon her smileE
Now far removed from every earthly illG
Her woes are buried and her heart is stillG
