The Bridge Between Clifton And Leigh Woods Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBABBAACDCDED

Frown ever opposite the angel criedA
Who with an earthquake's might and giant handB
Severed these riven rocks and bade them standB
Severed for ever The vast ocean tideA
Leaving its roar without at his commandB
Shrank and beneath the woods through the green landB
Went gently murmuring on so to derideA
The frowning barriers that its force defiedA
But Art high o'er the trailing smoke belowC
Of sea bound steamer on yon summit's headD
Sat musing and where scarce a wandering crowC
Sailed o'er the chasm in thought a highway ledD
Conquering as by an arrow from a bowE
The scene's lone Genius by her elfin threadD
