Sunday Night. (from The Villager's Verse-book.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGF

Let us unfold God's holy bookA
And by the taper's lightB
With hearts subdued and sober lookA
So spend the Sabbath nightB
-
Where now the thoughts of anxious lifeC
Its guilty pleasures whereD
Here dies its loud and mourning strifeC
And all its sounds of careD
-
Let other views our hearts engrossE
To our Redeemer trueF
Who seems expiring on the crossG
To say I died for youF
