Sonnet V. To The River Tweed. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFEFEF

O TWEED a stranger that with wand'ring feetA
O'er hill and dale has journey'd many a mileB
If so his weary thoughts he might beguileB
Delighted turns thy beauteous scenes to greetA
The waving branches that romantick bendC
O'er thy tall banks a soothing charm bestowD
The murmurs of thy wand'ring wave belowD
Seem to his ear the pity of a friendC
Delightful stream tho' now along thy shoreE
When spring returns in all her wonted prideF
The shepherd's distant pipe is heard no moreE
Yet here with pensive peace could I abideF
Far from the stormy world's tumultuous roarE
To muse upon thy banks at eventideF
