Sonnet: O Poverty! Though From Thy Haggard Eye Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFEGEG

O Poverty though from thy haggard eyeA
Thy cheerless mien of every charm bereftB
Thy brow that Hope's last traces long have leftB
Vain Fortune's feeble sons with terror flyA
I love thy solitary haunts to seekC
For Pity reckless of her own distressD
And Patience in her pall of wretchednessD
That turns to the bleak storm her faded cheekC
And Piety that never told her wrongE
And meek Content whose griefs no more rebelF
And Genius warbling sweet her saddest songE
And Sorrow listening to a lost friend's knellG
Long banished from the world's insulting throngE
With thee and thy unfriended offspring dwellG
