Bamborough Castle Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFEFGG| Ye holy Towers that shade the wave worn steep | A |
| Long may ye rear your aged brows sublime | B |
| Though hurrying silent by relentless Time | B |
| Assail you and the winds of winter sweep | A |
| Round your dark battlements for far from halls | C |
| Of Pride here Charity hath fixed her seat | D |
| Oft listening tearful when the tempests beat | D |
| With hollow bodings round your ancient walls | C |
| And Pity at the dark and stormy hour | E |
| Of midnight when the moon is hid on high | F |
| Keeps her lone watch upon the topmost tower | E |
| And turns her ear to each expiring cry | F |
| Blessed if her aid some fainting wretch may save | G |
| And snatch him cold and speechless from the wave | G |
