Counting Sheep Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEEFGGHIJJHKKILI MENIOPLPLP

Half awake I walkedA
A dimly seen sweet hawthorn laneB
Until sleep cameC
I lingered at a gate and talkedA
A little with a lonely lambD
He told me of the great still nightE
Of calm starlightE
And of the lady moon who'd stoopF
For a kiss sometimesG
Of grass as soft as sleep of rhymesG
The tired flowers sangH
The ageless April talesI
Of how when sheep grew oldJ
As their faith toldJ
They went without a pangH
To far green fields where fallK
Perpetual streams that callK
To deathless nightingalesI
And then I saw hard byL
A shepherd lad with shining eyesI
And round him gathered one by oneM
Countless sheep snow whiteE
More and more they crowdedN
With tender criesI
Till all the field was fullO
Of voices and of coming sheepP
Countless they came and IL
Watched until deepP
As dream fields lieL
I was asleepP
