War Heel! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDFGCGCCEC

Thrusters are steadying hounds at a lossA
Checked at the stile leading into the laneB
Feel for it forward and feather acrossA
Keen to recover their quarry againC
Horsemen sit silently watching the packD
Nothing is heard but the clinking of steelE
Then a low whimper one hound running backD
'War' heel there 'War' heel 'F
Life's but a heart stirring hunt at the bestG
Checked by old memories bid them begoneC
Fling to the front with a laugh and a jestG
All that you seek for is for'ard and onC
Never look backward and never repineC
Keep with the pack as they scatter and wheelE
Turn from the years that have trampled the lineC
-
'War' heel there 'War' heel '-
