The Artist Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCBDEDFGGEHIHIJJ I

He stands at no easel he mixes no paintA
He colours no canvas to gladden the eyeB
Yet the picture he makes will not fade or grow faintA
Till our love of the chase shall desert us and dieB
He's an artist of partsC
Who appeals to the heartsC
That can thrill to good hunting and hounds in full cryB
By his seat in the saddle his touch on the reinsD
His skill and his mastery who can gainsayE
That here is an artist in all that pertainsD
To the horse and his handling a real R AF
An artist 'twould irkG
Not to cut out the workG
When the hats are crammed down and a fox is awayE
You will find him no centre of salon or crushH
No letters attached to his name may he signI
But there's no one so eager to handle the BrushH
And there's none so consistently found on the LineI
If an artist you askJ
Here's the man for the taskJ
Making pictures where keenness and courage combineI
