The Truth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GGHHIJ

Since I have seen a bird one dayA
His head pecked more than half awayA
That hopped about with but one eyeB
Ready to fight again and dieB
Ofttimes since then their private livesC
Have spoilt that joy their music givesC
-
So when I see this robin nowD
Like a red apple on the boughD
And question why he sings so strongE
For love or for the love of songE
Or sings maybe for that sweet rillF
Whose silver tongue is never stillF
-
Ah now there comes this thought unkindG
Born of the knowledge in my mindG
He sings in triumph that last nightH
He killed his father in a fightH
And now he'll take his mother's bloodI
The last strong rival for his foodJ
