The Starved Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAA BBB CCC BBB DDD EFF AAA

My little Lamb what is amissA
If there was milk in mother's kissA
You would not look as white as thisA
-
The wolf of Hunger it is heB
That takes away thy milk from meB
And I have much to do for theeB
-
If thou couldst live on love I knowC
No babe in all the land could showC
More rosy cheeks and louder crowC
-
Thy father's dead Alas for theeB
I cannot keep this wolf from meB
That takes thy milk so bold and freeB
-
If thy dear father lived he'd driveD
Away this beast with whom I striveD
And thou my pretty Lamb wouldst thriveD
-
Ah my poor babe my love's so greatE
I'd swallow common rags for meatF
If they could make milk rich and sweetF
-
My little Lamb what is amissA
Come I must wake thee with a kissA
For Death would own a sleep like thisA
